Engagement, with transparency.

During the planning phase of the project, we focussed on two key areas; user journeys / engagement and SEO. The individual product pages received the biggest makeover - more engaging content areas were added, with a focus on showing users the different customisations available through images and video. To aid with transparency, our website development team also built a pricing calculator, allowing users to see how the price was effected when various optional extras were added. We also integrated with the Google Business Reviews API across the website, to showcase the latest customer reviews and star ratings.

It was also crucial that the new website continued to perform well organically on Google. We ensured that certain pages were kept for important keyword traffic, and setup several 301 redirects for the older product pages that were no longer being kept. This would then let Google know to redirect those users to the new page, without losing traffic.

The team at Garden Affairs wanted to remain somewhat faithful to the styles in the previous website design; they were consistent with wider brand materials and still appealed to the target audience. That didn't mean that our design team couldn't freshen things up though! We wanted to introduce larger, more engaging imagery - to really showcase what was on offer. Coupled with a generally cleaner and less cluttered design, the new website has a much fresher feel to it.
