Robert Lawrence are an award winning event production resource company, working exclusively with other event companies. They approached us for a complete redesign and build of their website - which was slow, dated and not very user friendly. We started the process by planning out exactly what we wanted to communicate to users. We considered the information that people would want relating to the services, the kind of portfolio items people would be interested in, and also how we'd portray Robert Lawrence and their industry experience.
Once a solid content strategy was in place, each page was mocked up as a wireframe, allowing us to visualise the content and the user journey. You can see a before and after example of the wireframes and final design in the accompanying images.
The brief was to create a site that was easy to navigate, whilst projecting a cool and creative feel. The design caters for a lot of large imagery to really showcase the work, as well as using blocky headings and content areas to easily guide the user through the content in a logical way.
GEL Studios also carried out keyword research and an on-page SEO strategy to increase the amount of traffic to the website. The old site didn't rank at all on Google for the desired keywords, and the SEO work we carried out, combined with the high standard of coding, saw the site ranked within the first week - which is a huge success.
We have also incorporated a safe and secure user login section, so that Robert Lawrence can show certain pieces of private work, to prospective clients and customers.
