Being a creative usually comes with a few personality traits and habits that can sometimes be quite annoying - especially when it comes to your relationships. That's why I've put together a helpful list of things to look out for when it comes to designers and dating.

Here are just a few things that 100% confirm that you might be dating a designer/ creative:

It's date night and you decide to go out for a fancy meal. Don't get disheartened when your partner is more interested in the font used on the restaurant branding, the fancy print techniques on the menu and the embossed napkins, than they are in talking to you.

Designers are often super tired and resemble a raccoon on a daily basis from not working the normal office hours. This is the only way they believe they can make sure their clients are super happy with the logo they spent all night crafting.

They often spend most of their money on the newest Apple products or software to keep up to date with the latest trends. Don't worry, I'm sure you can make your Apple-Samsung relationship work (hopefully)!

Your birthday presents end up being the fanciest of items, just because they want to keep the packaging to study afterwards.

Learn to love tea and coffee as much as they do, as you'll soon begin to only function after your first cup of the day. WARNING... approach their workspace with caution if they don't have a brew at their desk.

Picking colours to decorate your new house! Good luck with understanding your partner's rant about Pantone swatches. Just nod and agree, it's safer that way!

Nobody can get more excited over a fresh set of stationery for Christmas than a creative. Trust me, it comes in handy on a daily basis!

Birthdays and weddings within your family circle - sorted! Rest assured, hand-designed and personalised gifts and invites are heading your way.

Trust me, we're a perfectly lovable and dedicated bunch, but sometimes we just get distracted by the wonderfully visual world around us.
