Creativity and innovation have long played a defining role in Swindon.

Beneath this runs a strong sense of pride, rooted in heritage, culture and the communities who call it home. Together, these elements underpin Swindon’s identity and deserve recognition beyond the town itself.

That legacy is not standing still; it is constantly evolving. A new generation of makers, thinkers and doers is actively shaping what Swindon can become. Across the town, individuals and organisations are challenging expectations, building momentum and defining a future that reflects both Swindon’s past and its potential. This progress is deliberate, driven by a belief that Swindon can, and should, be a leading force in culture and creativity.

There is clear momentum behind Swindon’s cultural future. Its longlisting for UK City of Culture 2029, alongside significant investment in a new entertainment venue in the town centre, signals growing confidence and ambition. These developments strengthen Swindon’s cultural infrastructure and reinforce its position as a place where creativity is taken seriously and experienced widely.

As a creative agency based in Swindon, GEL Studios has had the privilege of witnessing and being a part of the momentum firsthand. Working with ambitious and forward-thinking partners, we are a part of a collaborative community where ideas move quickly, and meaningful work is pushed forward.

Our vision at GEL Studios is simple: to inspire change through creativity. Through our work with SMEs, we support and elevate organisations, initiatives, and campaigns, with a focus on creating positive impact wherever possible. By delivering thoughtful branding, impactful marketing, and engaging websites, we play an active role in championing Swindon’s cultural landscape and extending its reach.

Last year, we supported 16 organisations and positively impacted more than 90,000 people across our local community. This included introducing young people to careers in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, supporting visually impaired residents to stay connected with local news, helping adult and child survivors of domestic abuse access vital services, improving access to mental health support, assisting children as they enter foster care, and providing students with hands-on industry experience. Each project contributed to a stronger, more connected community.

By working closely with our partners, we are supporting the creation of opportunities for people to produce, share and celebrate cultural work. Our collaboration with the Swindon Culture Collective is helping to bring together local artists, organisations and communities to develop new ideas and opportunities. As members of the collective, GEL Studios has delivered key visuals and a bespoke website. Together, we are also exploring further opportunities to showcase Swindon’s cultural and creative energy.

We’re also championing Swindon Make it Here; a powerful call to action encouraging entrepreneurs and businesses to see the town as a place of opportunity, where ideas take shape and ambition is supported. We are incredibly proud to have contributed to this vision through the soon-to-launch website, which will bring the campaign to life in a bold and engaging way.

Swindon is our home. We want to see it continue to grow in confidence and recognition, locally, nationally and beyond. When Swindon succeeds, the impact is shared - businesses grow, communities strengthen and future generations are encouraged to aim higher.
